Battle Of Trafalgar Festival

Wed 15th Oct -Trafalgar Park Bowls Club invite members of the public to come along to play and try bowls with a Battle of the sexes day. The Men vs. the Ladies will begin at 7pm and a light supper will be provided.

TADS (Trafalgar Amateur Drama Society) presents ASCOT EVE an intriguing murder mystery, melodrama and comedy, written by an Australian playwright. The play takes place in the late 1920’s, at Lord Lavender’s home.  Friends, family and associates have been invited to their traditional Ascot eve dinner at the Manor.

The audience is invited to help solve the mystery of “who dun it”. And to get into the spirit of the evening by coming along in the dress-style of the late 1920’s --- “flapper” dresses, feather boas, and all the finery of that era. Prizes will be given for the best costume, best couple and best table.

When:  Fri 17th and Sat 18th of Oct. Doors open at 6.30pm and play commences at 7.00pm

Where:  Trafalgar Public Hall, Contingent Street Trafalgar

Cost:     $35 per ticket:  this includes a two-course Dinner   BYO Drinks

 Note:  Last year many people missed out from attending as they left buying their tickets until the last minute!

 

Sun 19th Oct- Pink Ribbon Breakfast. Gold coin entry or a donation envelope will be available.  Breakfast begins from 9am-10:30am at the Trafalgar Football Club (upstairs) raffles and entertainment will flow through

Sun 19th Oct-Trafalgar Victory FC presents The Battle of Trafalgar Small Sided Game Soccer Carnival

 10:00 AM Kick-off at the Trafalgar High School oval. 5 player teams can be entered in the following divisions:

Junior (5 - 10)  Intermediate (11 - 16) Open (17+).    Shields and player prizes to be awarded

Tues 21st Oct- Trafalgar Primary School presents a 3 stage day and evening concert/ theatrical production for the Official Anniversary of the English Battle of Trafalgar which they have been working on throughout the year to show to parents and community members their interpretation of the English Battle, The Battle over the Trafalgar and Yarragon Railway Stations and how the Festival began and what it means today. Families are encouraged to build cardboard boats for a race to take place in the evening. Sausage Sizzle will be available.

Fri 24th Oct- Wine and Cheese Night will be held at the Trafalgar High School Performing Arts Building.

There will be a mini goods and services auction and light entertainment throughout the evening. The evening is a great opportunity to meet both school Chaplin’s and proceeds from the evening will help support them in there new role. Fri 24th Oct-YMCA Youth FReeZa Event- held at the Trafalgar Public Hall from 5pm-9pm entry $5.00

Sat 25th Oct- Chamber Of Commerce Treasure Hunt- The hunt will begin at 9am starting at BK’s Takeaway and will take you to a variety of destinies and at each location you will be required to perform a task to receive a stamp on your map, once the map is completed you will go in the draw for some major prizes to be drawn at

 Mc Gregors Park at 12:00 just before the Pet Parade. (Parents are asked to accompany children as crossing the roads and going long distance may be required)

 

Sat 25th Oct- Pet Parade- Fancy Dress theme this year is “Mystical Critters” at Mc Gregors Park starting at

12:15 until 2:15. Each entry receives a free show bag and prizes for winning entries. There is a gold coin registration for each category with all profits being donated to Harry Packers Bird Rescue Centre.

Sat 25th Oct- Trafalgar Cricket Club- Trafalgar will Battle out a match against rival Yarragon Team starting

at 12.30 and finishing at 5:30 and they would like to invite community members to come along for a BBQ and to watch and buy a ticket in the hilarious “Cow Lotto” which could go for 2 mins or 2 hours depending on  the cows number two’s Ticket will be $20:00 and the major prize will depend on how many squares are purchased, this will begin at 6:30. Sat 25th Oct- Fireworks- Due to daylight savings beginning early this year the display will shoot off at 8:30 at the Football ground. Members of the public are invited to come up early and bring along chairs and picnic baskets to watch the demonstration the Cricket club will still be providing a sausage sizzle

 

Sun 26th Oct- Great Garage Sales Day- The Trafalgar Primary School Parents and Friends Group will be making up maps, advertising and taking registrations for this wonderful day that brings out thousands of people. Last year we had 41 garage sales participating, maps will be available from 8:30 from the Trafalgar News agency.

Sun 26th Oct- The Public Hall’s Annual Extravaganza Market- Last years market had up to 70 stall holders with a great mix and variety of things from plants, bags, jewelry, readings, show bags and jumping castles. There will also be a huge display of vintage vehicles from the Truck Restorers group. The Market is open from 8am to 2pm with a gold coin entry. Sun 26th Oct- Jazz Afternoon at St Mary’s- The Anglican church in Contingent St set the church up like a café and supply a light afternoon tea for people to come along and rest and enjoy the beautiful jazz songs after there busy day at the festival there is also room for dancing which the children love not to mention there families.
